Sara R Mills is a highly skilled Software Engineer currently working at School of Motion. With a hard science background, Sara is adept at solving any problems thrown her way. She sees programming as a game, where every time she does something new, she gains experience points and eventually levels up. To Sara, there are no game overs, as she can always find the next step to figuring out how to solve the problem, no matter how large the problem may be. Sara is a team player who enjoys working together with others by learning and teaching each other. She believes that this helps everyone be the best they can be both professionally and personally. Sara is skilled in current best practices in JavaScript, CSS, React.js, Node, Express, and she keeps every project responsive and accessible. She is always eager to learn and add to her list of skills. Before joining School of Motion, Sara was a Full-stack Engineering Student at Thinkful, where she learned industry best practices and practical software development standards. She created and deployed mobile-first applications while learning new languages and frameworks. Sara also collaborated weekly with a senior web developer. At Thinkful, Sara completed two projects - DevLFT and FF7 Companion App. For DevLFT, she acted as Product Manager, ensuring user-flows were well considered and developing milestones. She implemented all functionality for Project Dashboard, handled back-end refactors, and SQL queries as needed. For FF7 Companion App, Sara designed a relational database schema and RESTful API interface for the back-end server. She also implemented JWT-authentication. Sara was also a Private Tutor, tutoring students of all ages in Geology, Chemistry, and General Science. She holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geology/Earth Science, General from the University of Florida and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Geology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Sara's tech stack includes Software Engineering, Javascript, SQL, Backend, Web, ReactJS, Product Manager, and Mobile. With over 10 years of relevant experience, Sara is a valuable asset to any team she joins.
